‘Point Of No Return”

point-of-no-return.jpg The first time I ever saw the “Point of No Return” (1993) staring Bridget Fonda, Gabriel Byrne, and Dermot Mulroney, I was home sick from school. I can’t remember if I was in middle school or high school, but I do remember being extremely bored and not in the mood to do anything else but watch TV. After I watched it I immediately thought, “This is definitely one of my top favorite movies!” Granted I have tons of top favorites being a avid movie lover.

It’s about a girl who commits murder when her friends drag her into a heist gone wrong. She shoots a cop in the head and is sentenced to death by lethal injection. The government decides she would be a good candidate for a training program to become a top assassin. She shows much resistance because that’s just who she is, but eventually decides she needs a change if she’s ever going to get a normal life. She gets a new look and becomes refined and is sent out into the world with the intentions of starting a new life but keeps getting interrupted by getting called in to “take care of a target”.

I recommend it to anyone who likes women who kick butt and stand up for what they believe in.  I’m currently watching it right now because I haven’t seen it in about a year. I should try to find it on DVD to add to my growing collection.

It’s Sunday, currently my favorite day of the week. Mainly because it’s my only day off. I try to stay in my pajamas all day and do nothing but what I enjoy. Normally I play World Of Warcraft, but today I went out with Greg, my boyfriend of almost 15 months. We had brunch at IHop and then went shopping for hamster supplies. It was a relaxing day and I hate how fast it has gone by.

Comtemplating the Universe

I’m currently at work, trying to pass time. I’m here for at least another 4 hours. The basketball game is playing so business is non-existent. I’m sitting here facing our big store front that is nothing but a big glass window. The sun is shining but I can’t help feel bitter since I’m stuck inside watching all the people pass by with smiles on their faces. I should just set up a table outside and wave to the people walking up hoping they will get served with some awesome BBQ. Sit out there with my laptop and happily blog about every person that gives me a weird look. Sounds like a great way to spend the next 4 hours.

So today’s topic of discussion is going to be about my bedroom. It is in fact the smallest bedroom in the house but I find it the most coziest. And I’m not saying that just because it’s mine. I’m saying it because it is in fact the coolest room in the house. It started out a shade of pink with some blues. It was a surprise from my parents after I came home from spending 2 weeks on my aunt and uncle’s farm. I asked for a blue room so you can imagine my surprise when I come home to find bright pink walls. It could have been worse, my twin sister’s room got painted brown.

When I turned 16 my parents surprised my sister and I with bedroom make-overs! And this time we got to design what colors we wanted. My sister chose purple and I chose…. YELLOW! I’m talking SUNSHINE YELLOW! It is awesome. The only downside to having a bright sunny room is that when you want to sleep in it’s kind of hard since as soon as the sun hits the window the entire room lights up. But you definitely wake up in an awesome mood.

My room has a lot of furniture in it for such a small space. I have a desk, 2 dressers, an entertainment center, a shelf that all my games, cds, and movies sit on, and of course my bed (with those awesome sheets).  It may be cramped but it is by far the room I spend most of my time in. I have a tv, stereo, computer (and a laptop), and a ps2 so there is always something to do.

I also have a roommate! She doesn’t invite pesky friends over or make insane messes that leave me disgruntled all the time!

This is Wicket! My peek-a-poo that we’ve had for like 15 to 16 years. She is my roommate! She sleeps under my bed and snores up a storm! She’s cuddly, cute, and loves to give kisses! Her favorite food is cheese (which gets snuck to her only on rare special occasions!) Her favorite holiday is Christmas because she too gets her own special stocking full of goodies and treats. Her birthday is around Thanksgiving and she loves to play with anything fuzzy and yellow!

I love my roomie!

The clouds are big, white, and puffy today. I love to drive when the sky looks like this. The horizons are so pretty against the contrasts of the greens of the grass and trees. And right now the sun is in just the right position that makes the sky seem like it’s glowing. It’s decided… I’m going to jump in the car and just drive off. Sounds like an awesome plan. Who’s coming?

An Interesting Start

My first entry should be about something extraordinary. Something that will set the pace for all my most awesome entries to come. I think my topic will be about sheets! That sounds interesting enough!

My favorite thing about sheets is the way they feel the first night you sleep on them after you wash them. It’s crazy how excited I get over a clean set of sheets. I love the possibilities with sheets. They come in a variety of patterns and colors. I myself own several shades of blue and a set of yellow. sheets.jpg

I can even remember my first set of sheets. They were Little Bo Peep and I preferred them to my flowery sheets… they were scratchy and kind of faded. Changing sheets is a hassle but does it pay off when you pull the covers back and slide into bed. It’s almost like sleeping on a new set of sheets each time!

I wish pillows were that way. I can remember every night that I slept on a brand new, just out of the package, pillow. It was like sleeping on a cloud or a big puff of cotton candy. But after that first night they sleep just like any old pillow you’ve had for years. My parents actually bought me a very nice pillow for Christmas this past year. It’s a pillow that keeps its shape and stays nice and fluffy no matter what! If only someone could invent a set of sheets in the same way! I would be in sheet heaven!
